About Me
My name is Sue.  I have been doing day care in my home for over 20 years.  I have 5 children, 5 grand children and one on the way!  I started the business because I love children and didn't want to be away from my own.  After exploring other career opportunities I always missed the children and have now come to the conclusion that this is where I am supposed to be.

Sarah: I have grown up with my mom doing daycare and I have always known that I would do the same. I have been married for almost 2 years and I am expecting my first baby. I love to joke around and make everyone laugh.

My Philosophy
We believe that there is a lot more to being a daycare provider than just providing a safe loving environment while the parents are away. Taking care of someone's child(ren) 5 days a week makes us an important part of a child's life in all aspects. We come to love the children as a part of our family. We strongly believe in starting young when it comes to teaching the children important tools for their life such as respect for self and others, manners, and how to interact appropriately with others.

My Experience & Training
Sue: I have a type two license which means I have 2 people working in my home and have the capacity of 12 children.  My daughter is working with me and expecting her first child in December.  My husband was in the military so I have been licensed on base until 7 years ago.  I am licensed in the state of Nebraska and participate in the USDA food program.

Sarah: After growing up with my Mom doing home daycare I worked at a childcare center my senior year of high school. I also spent some time being a nanny before working with my Mom full time.

Early Learning Program
We order a preschool program from a company called Funshine Express. We do our preschool activities in the morning. We start with a circle time discussing the weather, the date, and reviewing or introducing letters, colors, numbers, and shapes. As we teach the letters we also teach how to sign the letters. At the end of circle time we discuss what we will be learning and talking about that day. The rest of our time is spent working on fun worksheets and projects to take home or hang on the wall!

Additional Information
Having two people here full time allows us to go on occasional field trips. We usually have the children take turns going on age appropriate outings. Twice a year we like to go on bigger trips. In the summer we enjoy taking all of the children to the zoo and in the fall we love to visit Vala's pumpkin patch! We always invite the parents to join us and take pictures so the parents that couldn't come can see what their children were doing.
